Specimen Collection and Preparation

  • Urine: With or without Boric Acid preservative – 1 mL minimum 

  • Copan eSwab – 1 mL minimun

Specimen Storage and Stability

Store swabs at the following temperature:

  • Room Temperature: 24 hours

  • Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C up to 7 days

Store urines at the following temperature:

  • Room Temperature: 24 hours

  • Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C up to 4 days

Specimen Rejection

  • Received outside of stability 

  • Specimen not stored properly 

  • < 1 mL volume
